Actor Danny Masterson has been fired from the Netflix show “The Ranch” after several women accused him of rape more than a decade ago, the company said on Tuesday after weeks of public pressure to take action.

“As a result of ongoing discussions, Netflix and the producers have written Danny Masterson out of ‘The Ranch,'” a Netflix spokesperson said in a brief statement. “Yesterday was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him.”

It was not immediately known how Masterson, who portrays Colt Bennett’s brother Jameson “Rooster” Bennett, had been written out. The show, of which the second season was released in June, centers on the son of a Colorado rancher who returns home to run the family business.

Four women have accused Masterson of raping them in the early 2000s, but the actor denied the allegations and said all of the encounters were consensual. Police have been investigating the claims but, so far, no charges have been filed.
